Shell and Tube

A Shell and Tube heat exchanger is the most common type of heat exchanger in most industrial processes. Standard “off-the-shelf” designs will satisfy many applications with low to moderate pressure and temperature requirements. Semi-standard and custom designs can be specifically designed to satisfy a broad range of applications at virtually any pressure or temperature. As its name implies, this type of heat exchanger consists of a shell (pressure vessel) with an internal bundle of tubes. One fluid runs through the tubes, and the other over the tubes (through the shell) to transfer heat between the two fluids. The set of tubes is called a  tube bundle. Materials and configuration of the shell and tubes can be matched to the fluids, pressures, and temperatures of the application.

Standard designs from 2″ to 12″ diameter.

Copper, brass, stainless steel (304/316), carbon steel, titanium & other alloys.

Custom designs (TEMA Class & ASME Code w/ National Board Registration).

Replacement tube bundles  and  re-tubing  services.
