Brazed Plate

brazed-platexBrazed Plate Heat Exchangers are one of the most compact and cost-effective means of transferring heat in many industrial and commercial applications. They feature corrugated plates, similar to the Plate and Frame Heat Exchanger, which are vacuum-brazed together at high temperatures, creating a compact, leak tight, and rugged design which produces highly turbulent counter-current flow.

Compact Size

The brazed plate heat exchanger is a very compact heat exchanger design with extremely high efficiency, requiring less space as compared to other types of heat exchangers.  Brazed Plate Exchangers can be anywhere from 50% to 80% smaller than other types of heat exchangers designed for the same function. The smaller size reduces material content, making them one of the most economical heat transfer choices.

Temperature and Pressure Ratings

Unlike Gasketed Plate Exchangers, the construction of this design is not limited by the temperature and pressure rating of gaskets. Copper Braze-Joints are capable of temperatures above 425F and pressures of 450 PSI.  An optional Nickel Brazed Design is available for applications requiring higher corrosion-resistance (i.e. De-Ionized Water).  ASME Code Certified and U.L. Listed designs are available, when required.
